The inner tank stores the liquid products. The interlayer adopts the structure of “ vacuum+perlite powder”, the inner and outer tanks are flexibly fit together. The inner tank is made of high-grade low-temperature-resistant S30408 plate while the outer tank is made of high-quality Q345R steel plate.

The automatic welding is used for the main welded beams of the tank, the leak rate of a single welding line could reaches 1x10-9Pa.m³/s and leak rate of the whole vessel could reaches 1x10-8Pa.m³/s, both exceed the national standard by 2 ordersofmagnitude. The pipes and fittings adopt TIG gas shielded welding, which ensures the stable welding performance without smoke and dust pollution.

The insulation materials in the tank interlayer are dehydrated and degreased to ensure the vacuum degree to reach 3-5Pa after sealing. The storage tank has a very good heat-insulating property and the daily evaporation rate is about 15% better than the national standard. Moreover, as adsorption chamber filled with molecular sieve and palladium oxide is installed inside the tank interlayer to adsorb the remained and multi-layer released gas to prolong the vacuum life.

The outer surface of the tank is thoroughly sand blasted and flame sprayed with white epoxy paint for ensuring the surface paints to withstand at least 3 years without deteriorating and color fading. The tank surface is bright and clean without any flaws.

The operational life span of the tanks is no less than 20 years.

3. Process description.

The vacuum storage tank, as corollary equipment for the air separation plant, is used to store the LO₂, mainly includes such systems as liquid feeding, liquid discharging, self boosting, safety venting, pressure and liquid level measuring and other supplementary system.
